Brain BReak Balls
Brain Break!
These brain break balls will be used in a fifth grade classroom. When the students need to have a break from work they can all stand in a circle around their desks and take turns tossing the ball to each other. When someone catches the ball, whatever is written under their right thumb is what they will be answering or doing. There are two balls, one is for physical activity and the other is fun questions. For example, the physical ball might say "do 10 jumping jacks!" and the fun question ball might ask "If you were granted one wish what would it be?". These brain break balls provide multiple means of action and expression by allowing students an opportunity for physical action, when the ball is thrown as well as the ball that only has physical activities on it. The balls also provide multiple means of representation when students answer questions on the ball, or do physical activities they are drawing on their own background knowledge to complete the task.
